WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Day Shift and every 3rd weekend.

  • Responding to Service Requests Answers the telephone, identifying self and department. Responds to customer requests and complaints. Resolves issues and concerns of those we are privileged to serve. Directs outstanding inquiries, issues or concerns to appropriate staff.

  • Courier Shipments Coordinates, prepares and/or receives courier shipments of medication.

  • Dispensing/Delivering Medication Dispenses medications following the organization's policies and procedures. Delivers medication and ensures appropriate handling and storage.

  • Clinical Initiatives -RxBEDS Enrolls patients, delivers prescriptions and resolves prescription issues for the RxBEDS-Prescription Bedside Education Delivery Service.

  • Supply Inventory Maintenance Ensure inventory stock levels of drug items, ancillary supplies, and compounding supplies are maintained at appropriate levels. Reorders drugs and supplies as required; receives orders and documents receipt of each item. Maintains proper storage, inventory and security conditions for medications. Removes unneeded or outdated drugs and supplies from stock and prepares for return or disposal according to departmental guidelines.

  • Filling Medication Requests Fills medication requests and completes required documentation following the organization's policies and procedures.

  • Pharmacy Maintenance Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well organized. Assists in the care and maintenance of pharmacy equipment and alerts supervisors to problems areas.

  • Pharmacy Procurement Places medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Prescription Processing Prescription processing: Data entry, Filling, Selling.

  • Staff Education Provides and/or assists with training for new pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and pharmacy students.

  • Shipment Verification Receives and unpacks bulk and orders and verifies contents against purchase orders. Notifies pharmacist/supervisor of order shortages or damaged materials received, and takes appropriate corrective action steps.

  • Records Management - EPIC Utilizes EPIC and QS1 to access patient profiles and prescriptions/medication orders, provide needed information, process refill requests, complete billing/medical charges and resolve problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Certificate

  • Required High School Diploma/GED

  • 1 year Pharmacy Required

  • 3 years Retail Pharmacy Preferred

  • 1 year Outpatient Hospital Pharmacy Preferred

  • 1 year Epic Willow Ambulatory Preferred

  • Pharmacy Tech, State Cert (PHT) - .

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification - .

  • Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

  • Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) -
